I've had a Sony laptop (always used Sony for years and years)- that has been running for at least 7 or 8 years now since my previous last crash and I've religously avoided any of the more modern Win 10 systems as frankly they have no appeal whatsoever to me. The current version of Avast 18.7 can still be installed on Windows XP and Windows Vista, but from version 18.8, you must use Windows 7 or later to install this software.I can heartily recommend this one - SuperAntiSpyware - and it will run very comfortably on XP The upcoming version at the end of November will no longer support Windows XP / Vista.
